check him out.
kor been goin on and on abt this book –
‘mei, its really good. must read’
managed to do some reading and yeap, i love the book. one of those inspiring book.
few pointers:
– great family support. they are there for him.
from his dad – son, if you cant run, then walk and if you cant walk, then crawl. do what you have to do. just keep moving forward and never, ever give up.
he didnt give up. 100 mile.
– his sister. very sweet. she’s one of the reasons he completed marathon after marathon. she passed away at 18 years old..
– western states 100 miles.
brutal, nasty marathon.
he ran until his big toe dropped off.
he ran until you hope / want him to make it.
he ran to to find out how much human can achieve.
– rangers. group of pple who believe so strongly in each other, its either they complete or drop out together. goodness. bff?! *wink
– ran with his heart.
he might be a little arrogant but i like his persistence and i like him for running for others (charity)
quote:
‘pain has an odd way of suppressing hungry’
(girl ! yes, i dont eat when i’m upset. understand? hehee)
i love this:
‘it struck me in d space of a few steps that my past as i knew it had suddenly ceased to exist. nothing would ever be the same to me from this point on. i’d been profoundly transform by this journey..’
.. and ..
‘yes, its goin to hurt, but most things worthwhile in life usually come with a measure of pain’
.. and ..
“i run to help those who cant. i run because walking takes too long, and i’d like to get a few things done in this lifetime.. run because it always takes me where i want to go”
