I have a weighing scale at home and recently I realised my weight is bouncing between 45kg – 46kg. it used to be between 44kg – 45kg, last year was 42kg-43kg. Ya, I know I look skinny and most of you would agree that I look perfectly normal.
Stop. It. i might be acceptable to you but doesn’t mean I have to accept my own weight. Anyway, I am not commenting / stopping you from eating or losing weight, I think you shldn’t comment on MY effort in trying to lose a couple of kgs.
I started out with walking, sometimes brisk, sometimes just a 20 mins walk, 3-4 times a day. But after a week or so, my tummy is still a tummy. No effect at all.
I start to climb more stairs, eat less and continue walking. No effect after 7 days

Time to bring out the big guns – substitute my normal lunch to salad !
All Breakfast – bread, no more prawn mee or bee hoon
Tea Break – 3 in 1 instant soy drink or plain water
Here’s my meal:
Thur lunch – huge serving of salad with half a pack of instant noodles (with like 0.5% seasoning)
Fri lunch- huge serving of salad with some bee hoon & fish cake & tofu
Fri dinner – 1 deep fried chix wings, fries, 1 onions rings, 2 mini hotdogs
Sat lunch– huge serving of salad (with tofu, 2 mouthful of pasta, carrot, a little cheese, lean chix meat)
Fri dinner – zi char (crab, prawn, fish etc etc)
Sun lunch – full 8 course chinese dinner (jie’s food tasting!!)
Sun dinner – huge serving of salad (with tofu, 1 mouthful of pasta, baby carrots, a little cheese, lean chix meat, crab meat)
I weight myself on tue afternoon and I am 44.3kg ! and yes, my tummy is somewhat smaller !
Mon lunch- huge servings of salad only (with tofu, 1 mouthful of pasta, baby carrots, a little cheese, lean chix meat, hard boil egg)
Mon dinner – domino’s pizza (I had 3-4 slice of thin-crust pizza, 1 nugget, pop-corn chix)
Tue lunch – huge serving of salad (with salmon, baby carrot, cherry tomatoes, marconi, crab meat, lemon)
Tue dinner – instant noodles with veg, Chinese sausage, fish cake, popcorn chix and fish nuggets
Wed lunch – huge serving of salad (with salmon, baby carrot, cherry tomatoes, bee hoon , lemon)
Wed dinner – mum’s home cook
Wed supper – 1 small servings of bee hoon + popcorn chix
Thur lunch – 1 small servings of bee hoon + 2 fishball and 1 small servings of veg + popcorn chix
Thur dinner – soup asia broth
Fri lunch – huge serving of salad (with hard boil egg, the damn baby carrot, the never-ending cherry tomatoes and salad dressing)
Fri dinner – baked rice
Sat lunch – huge serving of salad
Sat dinner – pizza hut (2 slices of pizza and 2 drumlets)
Sun lunch – huge serving of salad
Sun dinner – thai express, tang hoon soup
*no supper

Orange juice (squeeze direct from orange)

Exercise schedule:
Walking (abt 3-4km per day)
Stairs
3-5 km walk & a little jog during weekend
Crunches (abt 100 per day)
Trying to move around when I am in office, sitting = not burning enough calories

I think the hardest thing in my weight management effort is dealing with pple saying ‘but you are already so thin!!’
sigh… honestly, I don’t care how you choose to pile on weight and not doing anything abt it but pls try to refrain from picking on me. I could give you a list of politically correct reasons why I wanna lose weight (coz I have high cholesterol, coz I am 30 year olds and my metabolism is slowing down, coz of overall health, coz I wanna accompany k, I wanna maintain my weight) but the sad but honest truth is I just wanna look better. I am sure most of you diet for this very reason, so pls don’t label me as whatever you are thinking.
I woke up 10-15mins early every day to do cardio, I am on a salad-lunch-diet and I am not exactly a salad-lover, I cut down on titbits, I took the stairs while my follow commuters took the escalator. I put in the effort, I reap the rewards.
Some say eating salad for lunch is unhealthy. oh is it? i have plenty of veggies, salmon, chix or even mushroom. come on, i dont think eating chicken rice / laska for lunch is healthy. the most irony thing is pple are joining me in this salad lunch.
I am going to continue this eat-and-exercise regimen until I achieve my ideal weight. I realised I am more alert and energetic during the day and I sleep better at night through exercise !!
The bad news is k is slightly overweight and has high cholesterol. The very good news is k has lost weight too, he is now 2kg lighter !
The BEST thing is we work out together, motivate each other and at the end of the day keep ourselves healthy.
