products and services
a product is something you purchase, tangible, measurable quality
whereas services are intangible, something you experience and if you came across bad service like me, you turn to the internet & whine your heart out!
the topic: Dr. Ong Eng San
why? lousy service
reason of visit: dizziness; near fainting spells
i went to a nearby clinic instead of my family doc. i like this female doc @ the nearby clinic. she’s nice, patience and she smiles alot. 🙂
my turn. i went in, only to realised the female doc wasn’t in. *arghhh
and in her place, is a male doc in his 50s.. aka Dr Ong.
Dr: how may i help you?
i explained my symptoms.
Dr: are you pregnant?
Me: no
Dr: are you married?
Me: no.
Dr: you could be pregnant without getting married.
Me: yeap, but i’m not.
Dr: BUT, you could be pregnant without getting married.
Me: -_- i’m NOT.
hello ! see, bad service. how could a doc be that unprofessional?
he did some tests & all seems well with me.
*whew !
Dr: okie, go and lie down.
Me: OH?! okie..
he proceed to check my tummy. hmm.. funny feeling. why didn’t he get a nurse to join us before checking my tummy? yes, i understand he’s a professional doc and i can protect myself BUT .. i felt.. i cant pinpoint the feeling…
read on.
he told me to sit up, lie on my side and tried standing up. i felt fine.
Dr Ong rudely shoot me with a “so, when do u ever felt dizzy?”
duh. thanks eh ! i expect a doctor to reassure me – i am okie.. instead of the accusing tone.
he went on to ask – do you need mc?
no. i don’t. honest to god, i felt fine. i am fine. but the recent fainting spells got ME worried. is there any underlying problem which i’m not aware of?! he seems shocked that i don’t want a mc.
anyway..
Dr Ong proceed to took out his book. flip to the page – what causes fainting (or whatever you call it) and went through. he went through various medical terms and description with me. duh. i don’t need to know the medical terms.. nor do i want a doc whose judgemental skill is lousy; he had to turn to the medical textbook on the spot and pintpoint my problem.
thanks eh !
i cut him off with a “so, i’m okie right?’’
and walk myself out after he say yes.
collected my meds, check my receipt and asked the lady – the doctor inside is this Dr Ong Eng San? Affirmative.
yes, im pissed enough to conduct a google search. wanted to issue a complain email, but the company wasn’t listed.
i hv blogged abt it and i cant decide shld i take a step further by writing on this on fb. any mktg student will tell you the web and social media are powerful tools.
Pointers to Dr Ong:
1) be kind, not insulting.
2) you might have years of experience and is a professional doc but pls, get the nurse in if you are conducting body checks.
3) never, ever.. show your patient the medical book. *tsk tsk
alritey. felt better after the whine !
